It was certainly a roller-coaster of emotions for Euro 2016 Group B teams. Among all the mediocre performances (England, we are looking at you), one squad has emerged as the big surprise of the tournament, Wales. And, leaving the attacking department behind, 23-years-old defender Ben Davies snapped our talent of day prize thanks to his supreme performance.
Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey also had to thank Davies for keeping a clean sheet. And do you remember his goal line clearance against Slovakia? We will certainly not forget it:

Here at KICKRS.NET, we dug into the numbers: 100% of the duels won, 66 touches, and a pass accuracy of 81% are usually the numbers you would see for an attacking midfielder (simply compare them to Pogba’s performance against Switzerland).
Fair to say, Ben Davies earned our respect as one of the most promising defenders in Europe. We are curious to see how he will perform in the Round of 16, also in light of the fact that he is at risk of suspension (he was booked in the game against England). Watch out, Davies!

Profile: Ben Davies (approx. 8€ MM, Source: TM.de)
Comparison: Šime Vrsaljko, Jordan Amavi, Raphaël Guerreiro, Elseid Hysaj
Strengths: Holding on to the ball, Passing, Concentration
Weakness: Still trying to find one

This U23 player is the real engine of France

Unfortunately, our most favourite team didn’t make it to the semifinals. We are all disappointed, but we can’t deny that the performance by the Frenchies was brilliant. And, above all, we got the chance to see again the real Paul Pogba.
