The awakening of Romelu Lukaku

What a perfect way to deal with the critics after the disappointing first game. Against Italy, last week, Lukaku was confronted with one of the best defense in this EURO so far. But he managed to react to criticism by scoring twice, and allowing the Red Devils to regain support and confidence. But his performance was far from ordinary. Yesterday, Lukaku became the first Belgian in history to score two goals in a EURO and moved up in the top scorers rank, joining players such as Stancu, Bale, Payet, Bale and Morata (all two goals). Against Ireland, Lukaku used his physical abilities to control the ball and helped his teammates to create opportunities. Thanks to a great work from Kevin De Bruyne on the right side, he scored the first goal with a surgical precision left-foot shot. His second goal was really similar to the first one, except that the assist came from Eden Hazard after a run on the right side, again. As a symbol, he celebrated his goal with his brother Jordan on the Belgian bench.
